5 fast and easy reads

You know what really encourages you to pick up a book and inhale it? Having no internet for a full week! Although I’m still reading the same book I started the week out with, I thought I’d put together a quick list of books I’ve read that I’d class as fast and easy reads for when you’ve found a bit of downtime and want to put your feet up for a bit!

Forgotten by Cat Patrick

I literally inhaled this book in a matter of hours! If you’re keen on a bit of light reading that revolves around young love with a bit of a twist, then this could be the book for you — but maybe have another book lined up if you’re putting aside a full day of reading as you’ll be finished with this so quickly!

The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick

Nope, it’s not just a movie! This book is super engaging and holds your attention incredibly well. And if you’ve already seen the movie, this book is actually very different, so be prepared to be surprised even though you think you may know the plot inside and out!

Room by Emma Donoghue

Another one that’s not just a movie! This book had me laughing and crying from start to finish. And that was practically only one day! Such a great read!

The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Don’t be put off by the size of this book — if you’ve got a weekend to yourself you’ll be done with this book in no time. Action packed, makes you think, and thankfully when you finish there’s two more books in the series to crack into!

Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

At the book fair that the theatre I'm involved with held recently I came across this book in amongst the piles of literature and all the memories of reading this when I was younger came flooding back. It may be a young adult book, but it’s so worth a read just for the vivid images it leaves in your mind. Expand your imagination, and your reading list, with this beauty!

Been inspired to pick up one of these novels and start reading? Well you may have found that I’ve conveniently linked every title and image through to the Book Depository for you to easily pick up some bargains — and there’s free shipping worldwide! Score!
