Spread the Christmas joy through fairy lights and mini golf!

You know the drill — Christmas is the time of giving. But not just all those perfectly wrapped presents under the Christmas tree for your friends and family. Christmas is also a time to really reflect on all of those around us, even those you haven't met before — and if you can, it's a time to reach out and help those around us who could really do with a bit of a hand. And why not do that while playing a round of mini golf?!

Setting up one of the many (!!) Christmas trees

Light Up The Holidays is an Auckland-based event organised by creatives Andrew Potvin and Zac Johns and the funds raised by those who head along to the event to play a round will be donated to Variety — the Children’s Charity! Amazing right? The duo have been able to completely take over Lilliputt Mini Golf on Auckland's Tamaki Drive with a huge amount of beautiful fairy lights and too many Christmas trees to count (I should know, Briar and I helped put them up), thanks to the generosity of the founders of Lilliputt Mini Golf, Hamish, Ollie, and George Fraser.

Briar ‘untangling’ the Christmas lights!

This year's opening night (on Thursday, Dec 15), will be hosted by actor and comedian Cori Gonzalez-Macuer and actress Morgan Bradley, and during the evening there will be a celebrity mini golf tournament (so bring your selfie sticks!), a tree-lighting ceremony, as well as plenty of live entertainment and music to keep you swinging and grooving throughout the evening. It'll be a great chance to see some up-and-comers in the Kiwi entertainment industry, as well as support an amazing cause while having a bunch of fun with your mates.

Let me know if you head along!!
